Yep - you read that right. These bagels only have 5 ingredients and approximately 15 grams of protein per serving. What's better to throw together on a Sunday and have prepared for weekly breakfasts?

YIELDS: 4 servings TIME: 35 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1.5 cups of plain greek yogurt

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 egg for egg wash

Optional toppings: Everything Bagel Seasoning, Seasme seeds, jalapeno slices, cheddar cheese, cinnamon and brown sugar mixture, etc. The choices are endless!

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, greek yogurt, and salt.

  3. Once a sticky ball forms, move to a lightly floured flat surface and continue kneading until it is no longer sticky and forms a dough ball.

  4. With a knife, separate into 4 smaller dough balls.

  5. Roll each small dough ball into a log-shape and then form into a circle.

  6. Place each bagel 2 inches apart on a parchment lined baking sheet.

  7. Whisk the egg and brush each bagel until fully coated.

  8. Sprinkle each bagel with desired toppings.

  9. Bake for 25-28 minutes until browned. Let cool before slicing.

*A perfect topping for your fresh bagel is herbed cream cheese. Simply take fresh chopped chives, dill, and parsley and whip into cream cheese with a dash of salt until fully incorporated!
